POTD: Vince Smith in Louisville, Ky

Here’s my recent POTD on ESPN. Had fun shooting this one. I’ve also got stuff in the newest issues of RideBMX and DiG so go and buyem while they’re hot.

OSS ‘Football’ Play-by-Play

Things are a bit slow, so here is nothing new. Sequences that I shot during the filming of the OSS DVD ‘Football’. My camera shoots at just a little over 3 frames per second so pretty much none of these are very usable.

The Bank L.A.

Now I don’t know if I just didn’t get the memo or what, but I am just now learning about this website, The Bank L.A. The design is original but not over-the-top and the content is some of the best on the internet these days. Definitely give it a look.

Winter Sucks

I came across this edit titled “Make the Most of the Summer”. Besides it being a very clean video with exceptional riding, it is a good message as well. I myself was not making the most of summer and now I have been on crutches for over two months. I can feel myself gaining weight and I have never been more depressed. I guess we make mistakes to learn from them. Video from nostockbmx.com.

Hood Antics

My boy Rob DiQuattro loves video games and making videos. Also he can do icepick grinds almost as well as I can. Here is the latest installment of Hood Antics, which includes the most impressive riding I have seen in the lifespan of the project.

Anthem 2 Trailer and pre-order info

It is finally here!

The Long awaited and often delayed follow up to Stew Johnsons  Anthem is ready.

I didnt watch the first anthem until a couple of years after its release and it is still one of my favorite videos of all time. You can check out the Pre Order info  for Anthem 2 over at Props.

Also check out http://www.anthembmx.com for more info

I am definitely picking one of these up.

BMX ‘zines

A good write-up on ESPN by Nick Ferreira about the DIY mags still making rounds in the community. It’s nice to see the initiative some people take to create these; I’ve never had the attention span.

Airbag Helmet

Pretty crazy, though I think I’d rather wear an actual helmet. Using the accelerometer technology, this thing would probably inflate if you hopped a small gap.

Moving Sequences

Click the photo to watch the sequence. Be patient and let it load.

Here’s a sequence I shot of Anthony Caraway in Cincinnati, Ohio back in June. The sequence ran in issue Four of CASE BMX so go check it out. Anthony’s only 15-years-old so I think he earned his respect with this move.

James Cox Interview

James talks about his BMX career and making the United video. From our friends at the BMX Movie Database.
