Canon Introduces the EOS-1D C
I posted a picture of this concept a while back, however at that point it was just a rumor. Canon has finally announced the EOS 1D C, a DSLR that will shoot in 4K resolution (4096 x 2160), as well as many other formats. This is huge. All I can say is that I want it.
35mm Point and Shoots
I know I’m not the only person who has a tendency to carry around a little 35mm point and shoot with them when they go riding. I always keep a spot open in my camera bag alongside my DSLR, lenses, flashes, etc for mine. It’s a good way to create physical mementos of the spots you ride, the places you go, and the people you’re hanging out with. My camera of choice: the Olympus Stylus. It’s cheap, easy to use, and takes pretty deece photos. I definitely recommend carrying something like this around with you, even if it’s just something you slip in your back pocket when you head out the door in the morning. Someday you’ll be glad you have those pictures to look back on.
A review of the Stylus Epic can be seen here.
A Few Recent Pics…
Chris Saunders with a little smith at the new Somerville skate plaza (in progress)
My buddy Bryan Tarbell, who posts over at LeastMost dropped off his Bronica SQ-A along with a few rolls of expired Kodak Portra 400 B&W film for me to shoot. I just got the first roll back, and I got a few decent ones out of it, but now that I’ve got the feel of medium format cameras down I’m psyched to shoot more! Here are three pics that I liked…definitely cool to get back little square black and white photos…it’s like the analog version of instagram.

Canon 5D mkIII Released
The long-awaited Canon 5D mkIII was finally released today amid a flood of pre-orders and media hype. I won’t do a full spec list, but I will talk about a few new features that I’m psyched on. Check out more after the jump.
Canon 4K DSLR
I know a lot of people have been reading about the Canon C300, but the product that I am most excited to see come out is the new Canon full frame DSLR that shoots 4K resolution video. This is seriously going to be a game changer, and it will rival the RED Scarlett, and come close in quality to the C300, but it should be priced around the $10,000 mark, versus the higher $15,000-$20,000 dollar costs of the Scarlett and the C300. I’m sure Canon will reveal more in the near future, but for now this concept equipped with a Canon 24mm EF Cinema lens has got me wanting to see more! Click the pic for a little more info!
New BMXFU 10Snaps
I was lucky enough to get asked to do this week’s 10snaps for BMXFU. These photos were either shot on my Canon 7D, Nikon F3, or Yashica Electro35. My favorite is definitely the one of Abdul doing a wallride. I need to shoot more film…
10Snaps
The well-known BMXFU dudes just started up a new feature on their website, and it’s a pretty dope idea. As Scott Barker says, “we showcase up and coming photographer’s favorite 10 photos they have shot recently.” I’m into it, and first up is Eric Marshall, hailing from Winnipeg. He’s a good dude, and he’s got some cool photos up, so check it out! Scott is going to post new 10Snaps pretty frequently, so check back at BMXFU.COM for updates…
