The Selvedge Yard

Still feeling horrible from my ankle injury as well, I’ve got plenty of roaming time on the internet. This was spotted over at defgrip, and seriously stole 30 minutes of my time before I realized it. From vintage Playboy to  ancient tattoo art, there should be something you can enjoy as well. It’s full of interesting photos and includes great information about them as well.

One article that grabbed my attention was called bikes-bikinis-beer & beach. It details bike week in Daytona Beach, Florida quite a few years back.

From the Archives.

Hey all. Its good to see Devon Posting on here as well. He is a friend of mine back in Louisville and definitely knows his stuff behind the lens.

I was looking through a bunch of old photographs and i came across one one of the first riding photo that i was ever really excited about.

This was an interesting shot because i didnt use typical gear. I was home in louisville on break from photography school and i had borrowed a TON of equipment. This photo was shot using the following.

Lights– Profoto Acute 600 w/s Studio heads with 3’x4′ Softbox and one bare head.

Mamiya 645 AFD II with a Leaf Aptus 22 Digital Back, 50mm lens.

Shooting ISO 50. Shutter 1/500 @ f/4

It was a really interesting shot. Using medium format digital the dynamic range even 5 years ago was amazing. The photo has an almost HDR  feel but was never shot as such. I just thought i would share. Keep shooting and expect some new posts from me soon.

Hey Whats Up

I’m Devon Denham, and I also shoot photos amongst the rest of these guys on here. I’m happy to say I’ll be contributing to this awesome site. So happy shooting and filming to everyone.

Tim Barber video

I am posting this mostly because you can see my tags on the bridge… also I spotted a Dah Shop sticker in there. Tim Barber runs Tiny Vices.

Timeslice Films 52 Camera Surf Shoot

Here’s a behind the scenes look at the making of a Rip Curl surf commercial made using 52 cameras. Timeslice seems to have the bullet-time technique down to a science.

Final Cut Plugin for easier H.264 workflow

This new plugin will allow Final Cut to automatically convert H.264 files (from Canon cameras at least) into the ProRes codec without any extra work. There are a bunch of other useful things the update does. Read more about it here.

Tilt/Shift Time Lapses

Very rad.

Gravis – Dylan Reider

After watching his episodes on Epicly Later’d, I am feeling particularly inspired by Dylans story of fame and misfortune. If you somehow missed this amazing video he put out for Gravis, you can thank me later for showing you.

Antwuan Dixon Epicly Later’d

I must admit this is probably the first episode of Epicly Later’d that I have watched the whole way through… but I am not disappointed. I am currently watching the Dylan Rieder episodes. All of them. For those who don’t know, Epicly Later’d is a web video series produced by fellow Ohio-an Patrick O’Dell, presented by Vice, where he interviews the bigger names in skateboarding these days. Each episode is a very honest, uncensored look into the lives of these professional athletes. I highly recommend watching.
